Fox Attack!

Brightstar sniffed. "I smell something I can't tell what it is... Fox!" and close to camp too. Suddenly a huge Fox burst through the camp entrance. It started speaking it sounded funny but it could speak cat. "I come for kill, for revenge. Mate died by cat i seek kill i seek revenge" (A group of rouges had killed a fox a couple sunrises ago but the fox thought it was the clan cats) The fox leaped at the nearest cat, Goldenstream. He closed her in his jaws but she scratched his muzzle and he let go. "Fox attack, Fox attack" Goldenstream yowlled.

Flamewhisker burst through the warriors den to gaurd the nursery along with Icefrost and Marshfur. Tigerpelt, Cloudfire, Willowfeather and Flamepaw leaped on the fox but it through them off with little effort. The fox charged toward the Nursery. Suddenly Songleaf burst though the Nursery and sprinted toward the Medicine cat's den. "Iceflower, Sandpaw Ferndapple's kits are coming NOW"! Iceflower and Sandpaw ran out and disappeared into the Nursery.

Meanwhile the warriors and apprentices were keeping the fox from getting into the Nursery but the fox was throwing everycat off of him easily. The fox knocked Pineshadow on the ground and stood over him about to make his kill. But out of nowwhere Speckleear appeared and leaped at the fox. Knocking the fox off balance it fell to the ground Speckleear stood over it and leaned down to make the death bite, but suddenly the fox surged up and bit Speckleear hard in the neck and she went limp.

The fox then felt a sharp pain in it's tail and turned to see Flamewhisker clamped down hard on it's tail. It screamed in furey and turned on him. It was about to kill him when Speckleear rose from where she was lying, bleeding heavily from her neck she launched her self at the fox and bit down hard on it's neck. The fox went limp.

She tumbled over and the fox's dead body weight landed hard on her. Brightstar watched in horror as his daughters body went limp under the fox's weight. "Good by my beloved daughter" Brightstar whispered as he crouched over her body "And may Starclan light your path".

Iceflower burst from the Nursery and announced, "Ferndapple has had 4 beautiful kits." Suddenly Brightstar thought of the prophecy that had come to him last time he visited the Moonpool. "To save a life is to take your own, but to take your own is a new beginning". Now Brightstar realized what it meant. Speckleear had saved her brother Flamewhisker's life but it had cost her her own life. It symbolized a new beginning because Flamewhisker and Ferndapple's kits had been born when she died. So even though Speckleear had died her death had brought 4 new lifes into the world. Then Brightstar crouched down beside his daughters body to sit her vigil.
